dc.description.abstractA production system based User Interface Management System (UIMS) is discussed. The UIMS, called Viz, has been designed and implemented in a windowed workstation environment, and (a) capitalises on the graphical facilities of the workstation while (b) being designed for both textual and graphical applications. The paper considers interaction, the appearance of Viz generated interfaces, and dialogue descriptions which parameterise Viz.en_US
